Introducing our New Lead Midwife
We are delighted to introduce Marianne Quinn, our new Lead Midwife for South East Genomic Medicine Service.
Marianne comes with a wealth knowledge and expertise in genomics. Completing a BSc in genetics and then training as a midwife, Marianne has a real appreciation that midwives practise genomics every day. Â This passion for genomics led her to specialise as a screening and fetal medicine midwife; bringing her expertise into clinical practise.
Marianne currently works as a the Regional NIPT Midwife Coordinator, supporting midwives in providing a sustainable, equitable NIPT service throughout the South of England. She is excited to start her new role as Lead Midwife for the South East GMSA, alongside her NIPT work. Â in particular, she is excited about a potential project aimed to support women who suffer multiple miscarriages in accessing genomic testing.
She passionately believes that increasing awareness and confidence, alongside facilitating local genomic projects, will continue to improve choice and outcomes across maternity.
We are thrilled to have Marianne as part of the team and if you have any questions regarding midwifery in the south-east feel free to contact her at Marianne.Quinn@stgeorges.nhs.uk
