Dear colleagues,
Re: Update on genomic testing within South East England and new test request forms
As you may be aware, NHS England are reconfiguring the way genomic and genetic laboratory services are commissioned and delivered. They have established 7 Genomic Laboratory Hubs to lead this reconfiguration. The London South GLH (LSGLH), a network of leading foundation trusts and pathology providers, has been commissioned to deliver the genomics laboratory
service across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. More information about the new NHSE national Genomics Medicine Service and the London South GLH can be found here:
https://londonsouthgenomics.nhs.uk/.
As a result of this, there has been a consolidation of genetic and genomic testing within the South East England region. All sample preparation and analysis from St George’s has transitioned to the Viapath Laboratory at Guy’s Hospital. Samples should therefore be sent directly to Guy’s Hospital:

We are currently updating our website to include important information on: ordering tests; sample requirements; turnaround times; and what to expect from the report. The final LSGLH test request forms are yet to be released for wider use, but we are aware that an earlier draft version has been circulated and is starting to be used by clinical colleagues. Please continue to use this form (see Annex 1) for the existing tests that you normally request and send the corresponding samples to the Viapath Lab at Guy’s Hospital.
We will keep you updated and once the full National Genomic Test Directory is launched, provide official communications.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Hall
