There is a growing momentum to improve personalised patient management through the integration of genomic information into clinical care. This will incorporate powerful new tools through which clinicians can further tailor healthcare, improving disease prevention, prediction, diagnosis and treatment.

The healthcare workforce including General Practitioners (GPs) needs to be empowered to identify the opportunities for genomic medicine as well as the ethical, legal, social and organisational implications.
