Genomics Conversation Week: Creating knowledge connections

Welcome to Genomics Conversation Week!

Whether you’re starting your journey in genomics or already have the basics, there’s lots to learn about the world of genomic medicine. Be part of the #GenomicsConversation with us from 3 to 7 November to discover more.

The eighth annual #GenomicsConversation campaign is taking place from 3 to 7 November 2025, inviting everyone working in healthcare – from clinicians and scientists, support staff and students – to discover more about genomics and what it means for them, their practice and their patients.

With genomics a prominent part of the 10 Year Health Plan, it has never been more important for healthcare professionals to be able to talk confidently about genomics and signpost patients to relevant information and services. Genomics is one of five transformative technologies identified by the 10 Year Plan to make the NHS Fit for the Future, forming the basis of ‘Big Bet 3: in the NHS of 2035, a patient’s personalised health journey will begin at birth’.

This year, the event will focus on creating connections in genomics. That might mean finding out how to get support in your genomics learning journey, exploring ways to delve into the subject with colleagues, or understanding how to talk about genomics with patients. Whatever your level of knowledge and experience, there is something for everyone.

Everyone can get involved – whether by taking a couple of minutes to watch a short film, exploring online learning, or joining the conversation on social media. The seven Genomic Medicine Service Alliances are leading activities across England, so find us on LinkedIn, and follow #GenomicsConversation on social media to get involved.

Together, we can raise awareness and help make genomics part of everyday practice across the NHS.

We’ll also be adding content here and on LinkedIn as it becomes available, so please bookmark this page and keep checking back to find out more about creating connections in genomics. The links at the bottom of the page will take you to each day’s theme.

Remember, you don’t need to know everything about genomics, but the right level of knowledge and confidence can make a big difference in your practice.
So join us, and let’s talk genomics.
