Genomics Conversation Week: Creating connections with colleagues
Day 2 – Creating Connections with Colleagues
Part of #GenomicsConversation Week: 3 to 7 November
Today’s focus is on creating connections with colleagues and building the confidence to be able to talk about genomics and seek support when needed.
Calling all Nurses!
We Spoke with Mark Mencias, a Neurogenetics Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London. He’s also a Genomics Ambassador, and he’s shared with us his journey into genomics and mainstreaming work.
Looking to join the conversation and transform your practice like Mark, but not quite sure where to start? Mark says you don’t need to be an expert, just curious.
Calling all midwives!
We spoke to Molly Dillon, a research midwife at St Thomas’ and one of our Genomic Ambassadors, about how newborn children and families can benefit from genomics.
Molly has been working on Generation Study, a research programme being delivered by Genomics England in partnership with the NHS, that aims to screen 100,000 newborn babies for over 200 genetic conditions.
