Genomic research: The landscape for nursing
NHS South East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) Director of Nursing & Midwifery, Dr Tootie Bueser, shares why it’s so important for nurses to engage and lead on areas of research emerging in the genomics field.
"The advent of genomics presents exciting possibilities for nurses as we critically reflect on how genomics affects and impacts practice and how this can improve the lives of patients and their families. Opportunities for research in the field of genomics can assist nurses to answer everyday questions that occur in practice whilst placing nurse scientists and practitioners into a field that they have not always been a part of."
