Mind and Body healthcare: Delivering the vision
January 26 2017 @ 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
This one day King’s Health Partners conference takes a look at the innovative mind and body work underway locally, with a particular focus on initiatives which join up mental and physical health through more integrated clinical care, training and research.
It is well-established that the mind and body are inseparable, and mental and physical health conditions are often connected. We also know that when mental and physical health problems are combined, people are less able to manage their conditions properly and their health outcomes become worse.
Evidence shows that by joining up physical and mental healthcare, we can help someone to manage their different conditions, improve their health outcomes, and even prevent unnecessary health problems for some people by identifying risk early.
This one day conference hosted by King’s Health Partners takes a look at the innovative work underway locally to deliver the mind and body vision set out in the NHS Five Year Forward View: that “the NHS will take decisive steps to break down the barriers in how care is provided between physical and mental health.
With a particular focus on initiatives which join up mental and physical health through more integrated clinical care, training and research, this event is suitable for anyone working in or with health and care organisations who wants to improve the mental and physical healthcare we provide for our patients and service users.
Programme details to follow shortly. We expect this event to be popular so please register as soon as you can.
